A group of twenty students from Arunachal Pradesh, called on the President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan today (April 15, 2013).
Welcoming the students, the President said experiencing the rich and diverse culture of our country would help them understand and assimilate the notion of ‘Indianness’. He expressed the hope that exposure to India’s shared cultural heritage would instill in them a sense of pride in their motherland.
The students were in Delhi as part of the Civic Action Programme conducted by ITBP in the North Eastern States.
The President complimented the Indo Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) for taking the initiative to provide such an exposure to students belonging to the border regions of the country.
